Collection: Hot/Cold Therapy

Hot and cold therapy can be effective in managing joint pain:

Cold Therapy (Cryotherapy):

  1. Reduces inflammation and swelling;
  2. Numbs pain;
  3. Is ideally used for initial treatment of sprains, strains, after surgery or for rheumatoid arthritis flare-ups.

To benefit from cold therapy; apply a cold pack for about 15-20 minutes at a time, allowing the skin to return to its normal temperature between sessions.

Hot Therapy (Heat Therapy):

  1. Improves blood circulation;
  2. Relieves muscle spasms and tension;
  3. Is particularly helpful for long term conditions like arthritis, muscle stiffness, and pain from overuse or stress.

To benefit from heat therapy; use a heat pack for 15-20 minutes at a time, avoiding excessive heat, if there is swelling or an open wound.
